Very challenging case from a capable hip surgeon. One of the best really. A few comments (questions):
1. With the right hip, would you consider using a Restoration type stem or do you have concerns regarding their use in this age group?
2. With the left hip, was there enough coverage superolateral? I’m under the impression that there is bone which isn’t showing up on the s rays.
Thank you so much Dr. Ismail. First just to clarify, I suppose you are talking about case 8 of the hip group the case of dysplasia. For the right hip I agree with you in a young age I would prefer to always use a standard hip. Regarding the left hip, yes there is good bone coverage, in the slide before last I have added two red arrows to show the true edge of bone stock above the cup. The confusion comes from the sclerotic edge of the false acetabulum which is in a more anterior plane. Excellent observations
